![]() Once you've decided which of the six factions you want to play as, you'll want to begin exploring to find new friends and foes, improve your military strength and research your way to a technological utopia. There's a lot to get your head around, so we've come up with some top tips to help you get started. I am not sure what it does yet, like Leafskin, we have only seen the name and icon so far.Age of Wonders: Planetfall is the latest instalment in the series, combining turn-based combat and strategy with empire-building in a sci-fi setting. Ascended Warriors, which comes from the same Tome as the angelic transformation. So I think some Tomes could give more than one transform. Tome of Amplification also had Amplify Minds, which looked like a transformation too but I am not sure if anyone has a screenshot of its tooltip yet. Astral Blood from Tome of Amplification, which gives crit chance to your units each time you or the enemy cast a spell. Magical Wards from Tome of Warding, which causes your people to be suddenly covered in magical tattoos that give elemental and status resistance. An ethereal transformation, which was shown alongside angel/demon/tree in the Orc transformation gif in the game's "About" page. A gold skin transformation that was shown in the art dev diary. Earthkin, which covers your people in rocks, helps them camouflage and move better in rocky terrain, also gives defense. Steelskin, which gives defense and blight resistance but also electric weakness. Devs also briefly showed the name and icon for Leafskin, which sounds like a minor/lite version of the tree transformation. They take longer to lose models in a unit, but I presume each casualty reduces more of the unit's damage than usual. Supergrowth, basically opposite of Spawnkin, makes your people fewer and larger, reduces number of models and gives them more health and an extra retaliation. Also, I think it should be noted that the fire weapons are NOT a transformation, they are an enchantment, they were just shown alongside the demon stuff to showcase how the visuals give a feeling of progression. ![]() So they hit harder but they take casualties sooner, though each model lost does not reduce as much damage compared to normal size. Spawnkin, makes your people smaller and plentier, increases number of models on units that have more than one and also increases their damage. The other confirmed ones besides goat legs, red skin, Demons, Angels, animal friends, tree people, electric people, Undead and Frostlings are: )Ĭlick to expand. There are more than two transformations confirmed for most of the affinities, mostly minor and a few major. Thoughts? I know, I know, why have thoughts when we'll know in 3 1/2 weeks, but I'm going to be pouty that I'll miss the AMA, so this is what I got. Undead, and Frost (we've seen bits of both of these). Lightning (based on a guess from seeing the blue glowing halfling from the last playthrough stream) and water (based on seeing a water elemental?) ? and ? (i'd guess one would be making your people more like living statues, and maybe one more mechanical, like AOW3 dreadnaughts and AOWP assembly had a horrifying, soul damned baby) Hopefully someone will be kind enough to ask and answer for me! It does seem like we've seen a couple of instances where two separate transformations are coming from the same affinity, so I'm going to guess that every affinity may have two transformations?īeast, and Plant (we've seen both of these, actually) So, I thought I'd take a shot at making some guesses (some educated, some not) about what kinds of transmutations we'd be likely to see, and where there are gaps, ahead of the AMA, since I won't be able to attend. In looking at how the game is structured, we've seen a couple of transformations, and they seem to parallel the affinities.
